Work to construct a new roundabout at Biggs Lane / Princess Marina Drive will be taking place from Monday 26th November.
The contractors responsible for these works had been experiencing difficulty in obtaining a road space slot from Wokingham Borough Council and have just been advised that another contractor cancelled their slot, freeing up the space for these works.
Initial enabling works for the Biggs Lane roundabout will be underway from 26th November until 21st December, and will then break for the Christmas period. Following the Christmas break, timing for the remainder of the works is dependent on Wokingham Borough Council granting the contractor further road space. When road space is granted, highways work will require further traffic control. In any event, following the Christmas break, the contractors will be working to replace existing culverts at the entrance into the new development, and this will not require any traffic control.
Traffic at the roundabout will be managed with four-way lights, in operation 24 hours a day while work is underway. These lights will be switched off for the Christmas break, with traffic flow to return to normal.
