We are very pleased to report that the planning application for the new District Centre has been granted approval by Wokingham Borough Council’s planning committee!
On 6th April, Crest Nicholson submitted a planning application for the new District Centre and received valuable feedback from various stakeholders including officers at Wokingham Borough Council, local Parish Councils, residents and an independent Design Review Panel. The plans were refined and resubmitted in August with commitments made to prioritise the delivery of the new shops and community facilities.
On Wednesday 11th October the planning application was finally considered by the planning committee and granted approval.
Enabling works are planned to start in early 2024 and will focus on prioritising key infrastructure for the new Sainsbury’s with the store expected to open in Summer 2025.
