Sun shines for new school’s first ever sports day

Bohunt School Wokingham celebrated its first sports day in style at Reading’s Palmer Park Sports Stadium on Monday 10 July.

The School’s first ever intake of Year 7 students competed in track and field events, while teaching staff took part in the first annual staff race. The inaugural sports day was also set to be the last event held by the school before the official opening of the new £32.5 million school buildings at Arborfield Green, the former garrison site.

Headteacher Ben Godber, presented the medals and the house trophy, which were sponsored by Crest Nicholson, the award winning developers behind Arborfield Green Garden Village.
Anil Bungar, Senior Development Director at Crest Nicholson said:

“I am pleased that the school was able to round off its first year with a fantastic sports day which all of the students could be involved in. We are now looking forward to the opening of the new school building in September, that also coincides with the release of a new phase of homes at Arborfield Green -increasing capacity for much needed housing and educational facilities.”
